Events affecting space programs have shown that risks relating to charged particles of the space environment are sometimes poorly controlled at project level. This situation can have an adverse effect on availability and performance, even the loss of spacecraft was reported as a consequence of detrimental effects of charging. The 10th Spacecraft Charging Technology Conference is an international forum to present and discuss spacecraft charging issues and mitigation techniques. Co-sponsored by CNES, ONERA and ESA, the purpose of this conference is to provide opportunities for the presentation, exchange and discussion of new research results within the overall sphere of spacecraft-plasma interactions, and their impact on spacecraft technology and space plasma science instrumentation.
